Budget Symposium 2008

Taking a cue from the inclusive growth theme of Union
Budget 2007, the students at SIBM(Symbiosis Institute
of Business Management)conceptualised and formed an
in-house Budget Committee. It comprised of nine first
and second year students, and was mentored by Dr. Shubhada
Rao, Chief Economist, Yes Bank and Mr. Sandip Mukherjee,
Executive Director, Tax & Regulatory Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers
Pvt. Ltd. Assessing the previous budgets and existing
schemes, the team analysed the demand and supply gaps
in specific areas namely Power, Ports, Education and
Social Sectors. The team presented their observations
and suggestions in the form of a report to Dr. Rao.
